March 8 - Krabi and Flight back to KL

We got up early this morning to go do Dragon Crest mountain hike in the national park.  The park opened at 8am and we tried our best to get there at opening.  There is a check in point at the start of the trail where you have to write your name and license plate number... in case you don't make it back out.

The crowds hadn't started coming in yet.  We brought 1.5L of water each and I was thankful we did.  It was so hot, even at 8:30 in the morning, but it was a pretty awesome 2 hour hike.

Cool dude on the scooter

I'm finding that the signs in Thailand are not very encouraging.  2 more KM to go

Stopped at a view point along the way

Yay!  Survived!  If you read the sign, this was from a trekking race!  How cool!  (also, I would've died lol)

Had to post this photo cuz I took it with my selfie stick and it looks professional.  Also, what you can't tell is that Shaun smashed the glass out of his right lens, so this was the only photo we could take hahaha

Almost the perfect shot haha

I couldn't stop taking photos, it was so beautiful

Well deserved ice cream!!  Mmmm I love ice cream.

Had a beer on the balcony and then headed to the airport!!  On my way back to Kuala Lumpur!

I didn't take any pictures the rest of the day for some reason, but Ami picked me up from the airport and on the way home we stopped at a place for naan and satay.  Eventful day, I was beat.

March 7 Krabi Tiger Cave Temple

Got up and enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel.  The view from the balcony is gorgeous.  We went and rented some scooters to drive around Krabi.  Headed to Tiger Cave Temple.

Um.... this is going to be a long hike. 1,260 vertical steps in 100 degree weather.  So glad we brought 3L of water.

I'm dying

Yay step 984

Step 1128... they have these as reminders of how far you still have to go.

Excited that we reached the first resting place

At the top!!!!!!  Hung out in the shade a little bit before walking around.  Thank goodness they had a water fountain at the top so we were able to refill the water bottle.

The views were amazing!

The top of the hike is surrounded with Buddha statues

The ride home was beautiful.  And then I lost Shaun on the road and ended up driving the rest of the way home alone haha

We went to the pool at the hotel and had drinks.  Then walked down to the beach to watch the sunset which was incredible!!  Oh my gosh I took so many photos.

We grabbed dinner and drinks at a restaurant on the beach and then went to bed early so we can get up and be at the national park by 8am to do a really cool hike!  So excited!

I also booked a flight to Kuala Lumpur, so after the hike I'll be headed to the airport and back to Malaysia!
