Ride back to Chiang Mai

Had a relaxing morning at the hostel.  They did yoga and mediation.  Then we set out on the road back to Chiang Mai, stopping to take a few photo's along the way.

By the time we got back, we were so hot and exhausted.  This Thai iced tea was very needed.

Journaling while everyone does yoga

The smog from the field fires were so heavy, I opted to wear a mask for the first bit.

FINALLY GOT MY NEW CREDIT CARD

Once we got back, I decided to go walk around a local market and get my nails done like the locals.  I was too self conscious to take pictures at the market because people stare at me anyways.  For the nails, these ladies literally set up tables along the side of the street and just do nails there on the side of the road.  It was 150 baht.  I had to show them a picture of what I wanted (thank goodness I thought to save a photo before I went).  They had no idea what a French manicure was haha.  It came out OK.

Not the Best job but for $5usd, can't complain, right??

Pai Feb 21

I let Derrik sleep in today haha He had a long night.  We went and had an amazing breakfast, then set out for some caves 2 hours north of Pai.  The drive was beautiful!

We got to the caves a bit late.  It was 450 baht to get a guided tour by a local woman with nothing but a gas lantern.  It was a bit intimidating, walking through these huge caves with just a tiny lamp, but one of the coolest experiences!!!

Thai sense of humor.  This looks like a boob, so they put a sign pointing it out haha

At night, we pigged out at the night market.  Man the food is so good here!

Tacos were Not good

Street sushi also not good

Ginger tea was amazing

At night, the hostel (DeeJai tonight) had a movie night.  They played bench warmers or something.  Cute movie.  Our room smelled Horrible though.  Like someone pooped their pants.  Agh.  That was rough.

Pai Feb 20

Tim and Kevin headed back to Chiang Mai today so we got up early to go see the White Buddha, a large Buddha statue on the hill.

Then we grabbed some good coffee!  Most of the coffee in Thailand is not good, but in Pai there are some hippie places.

Derrik and I went to another waterfall and continued to the Bamboo Bridge.  To me, the bridge wasn't worth it.  Just a big tourist trap.

Photographers

I have no idea why I didn't take any other photo's of this waterfall.  It was gorgeous.

Just some water buffalo crossing the street no big deal lol.  We stopped to let them pass

I fell asleep really early this night.  Slept 12 hours.  Derrik went out on a pub crawl with everyone from the hostel and got back at like 3am.
