Back to Hanoi and off to Chiang Mai, Thailand Feb 12 and 13

We didn't want to take the overnight bus, because it would put us into Hanoi at 6am (can't check into hostels until 2pm).  And the next bus available wasn't until 11am... so we'd miss the whole day in Hanoi (6 or 7 hour ride).

So.... I did the next reasonable thing and asked to sit on the floor.  They said yes and our fare went from 300 dong to 200 dong.

Floor sleeping

There was a crazy accident on the road.  About this time, my mom and Heather (friend) messaged me they were thinking about me... and I had a semi panic attack (quietly) lol

Once in Hanoi, we went to our favorite pizza place, 4 P's!!  As happened last time, Ami talked our way into a fully booked restaurant haha

Someone enjoys their pizza

After, we went for coconut sticky rice.  Amazzziiinnnnggggg

The next morning.  Walking around Hanoi before I headed to the airport.

Wish I'd found this local market sooner.

I really like the craziness here.

Flew to Chiang Mai.  At the airport, I had to eat some...

Once I got to Chiang Mai, I didn't do much.  But this pretty temple is right by the Poshtel (which I learned is like a hostel but supposed to be nicer)

I met a couple at my hostel and went with them to the night market.

The hostel has absolutely no atmosphere and there's no way to meet people.  They didnt have any suggestions on activities to do in Chiang Mai.  I'm going to switch hostels tomorrow and try to go some place more social.  That's the important part about hostels when you solo travel: staying at places where you can meet people easily.
