Bangkok Feb 25

Flew to Bangkok this morning.  I didn't have a hostel booked haha.  Sat in the DMK airport for 2 hours while I tried to figure out where to stay.  It ended up working out.  I found a hostel in a quiet neighbourhood, not so touristy, but near DMK shopping mall (huge, cheap mall).

Took public transportation from the airport to the hostel.

Neighborhood by the hostel

At the hostel, I met two Italian guys who were volunteering at the hostel and they walked around with me.  We went to the art museum, where a charity event was being hosted.  The guys snuck in and got us free wine and snacks haha.

Watch this touch and go from the water taxi!

At night, David (Italian) and I went to Ratchada Roit Fai market.  I've never seen more people squished into an area!  It was insane.  Because of all the tourists, none of the vendors would negotiate either.  It was so different than the places I've been so far.

David and I had the great idea to walk back to the hostel after the market. Stupid idea.  There was nothing to see.  However, we Did stumble upon an American Wisconsin themed bar haha. Full of expats.

Stopped at a street corner for Pad Thai for dinner.  And that was my first day in Bangkok.
